I can't believe how many neighbors donated warm stuff. I was especially grateful too for a warm house to be in after spending a few hours in the cold drizzle this past Sunday.
This weekend, someone from Atlanta Georgia Street Ministry will hand out the donations in Woodruff Park, along with the hot meals she provides.

The Recipe For a Full Cup
I'm hesitant to set New Year's Resolutions. I use the transition to a new year to ponder changes and goals, but I resent having to complete them based on the Gregorian calendar system.
The first few weeks of doing this newsletter I loved creating it, but then after I hit send, I felt so exposed. Each unsubscribe was a rejection. But I'm getting used to the discomfort. These quotes grabbed me:

I'm leaving room in 2025 to act on some different ideas like:
- Organizing a creativity/art/making event of some kind
- Dedicating an evening each week to reading, either solo or maybe a group reading thing
- Focusing on 4-6 mini-adventures that look like day trips or classes

Are you getting all this good stuff? So sometimes this email ends up in Spam or Junk. I don't know what to do to fix that, but here are some tips. First, add my email address to your address book/contacts. Then, if you peek into your spam/junk folders too and my emails are there, mark them “Not Spam” or "Seriously, NOT SPAM" if you have that option.
The Real Story is Local
Journalism loves to generalize. Read Atlanta-area or US real estate news and notice those blanket statements. Further down in an article, they call out the caveats and exceptions. It's hard to know what to take away from the sound bites and pull quotes.
No Cookie Cutter Neighborhoods
National sales data exposes trends, but each neighborhood, with its different schools, businesses, home sizes and styles, is unique. Even street by street, there can be variations.
That means supply and demand is localized too. If homes in an area are in demand thanks to good schools or architectural distinction, prices might be rising even if the news says they aren't.
Not all shifts happen at the same speed either. Mortgage rate changes can impact an in-demand neighborhood with less inventory so much faster than one where sales have been flat.
Up-to-Date Data
I can give you current information. I don't like pat answers taken from a journalist, so I'm always looking at the numbers for your situation. Your house size and condition, your target area, your budget, your goals.
